Workout For Mind, Body And Spirit

We conducted SSY sessions for 21 rural participants of Katarkhadak village. This total health management program brought out the best in the participants by giving them enough food for mind, body and spirit.

 

 

The participants ruminated on the knowledge given and reported a positive change in their attitude. Appreciating this life enhancement programme, Miss. Kaajal Malpute confessed, “I was very diffident about my entrepreneurship skills. The program has given a new confidence to take up a new project.”

Tip Tap Toe

Little dancing feet of our ZP school students left us mesmerized when we organized a classical dance workshop for them. The students made the most of the limited resources and unlimited enthusiasm. Giving their 100%, they displayed extraordinary talent in learning to dance on a Marathi devotional number.

 

 

Such dance workshops that are on their way to becoming a regular feature in ZP Schools are enjoyed thoroughly by the simple rural kids of Khamboli, Katarkhadak, Jawal and Aandhale.

 We invited Miss Neha Nalawade, a Bharatnatyam dancer, to conduct the workshop.

Gaming Zone

On 26th January, 2019, we made the best move ever by introducing indoor games such as Chess and Carom in ZP School at Khamboli village. The said games have given much needed mental and emotional workout to these rural kids. The enthusiasts now play these games adhering to the rules while having oodles of fun.

 

 

 

Enrooted this journey of mental and emotional workout, the children have evolved much more patient and calm learning to plan and strategize.

We provided Carom board and Chess board sets. We arranged for a session explaining rules of the two games.

Choosing Gratitude

We helped our rural brethren count their blessings with the MOG (Magic of Gratitude) programme. Their hearts overflowing with thankfulness, made peace with their past and present for a brighter, happier future.

 

 

Subhash Malpute, one of the participants, shared, “I was not on speaking terms with one of my relatives. Thanks to the MOG programme it gave me the much needed courage to break the ice after so many years and get reconnected with the same affection.”

Mehendi Classes

Khamboli village girls received training in Mehendi application from their counterparts in Katarkhadak village. These girls showed great enthusiasm in learning the skill.

Renuka Vyas, our Rural development team member took the initiative to conduct training for more than 60 village girls. The aim is to help the girls learn socially productive skills. The village temple offered itself for this activity. 

Natures Cure

On the eve of Naturopathy Day, more than 150 villagers from Khamboli and Katarkhadak villages availed of the naturopathy health camp. Organized by the Rural team, the camp was a success. Especially as many health related queries were resolved and a healthy natural lifestyle involving Pranayam, natural food, yoga and mud therapy was propagated.

 

                A physically challenged girl responded well to tyevtratment and will continue to receive treatment.

Our Rural team member, Dr. Renuka Vyas along with 10 doctors from Mumbai led the camp.

For The Fun Games

Rural team organizes outdoor games for school kids who enjoyed playing kabbadi, kho- kho, cricket, wrestling, etc. The leisure time is now used fruitfully by these 1st to 7th grade students

 

thus channelizing their energy towards more healthy activities. Consequently, their health has improved, energy levels enhanced and immunity developed.

Our Rural team member, Subhash Malpote, trains the kids of Khamboli, Katarkhadak, Aandhale and Jawal villages. These outdoor activities are now a regular feature. 

HEALTH AND HYGIENE CAMP

A Health and Hygiene Camp was organized for students in the rural schools of Katarkhadak, Khamboli, Andhale and Jawal.

The camp included information on importance of maintaining hygiene and its connection with health. Ways of maintaining hygiene.

 

 

Practical day to day tips were given with regards to use of towels, soap, water, etc. Other personal hygiene pointers were also mentioned. 

A TRYST WITH TECHNOLOGY

To develop love for technology and become pro at handling it, we have started Computer classes at the Khamboli High School for students of std. V -X.  The thrice-a- week session includes basic computer knowledge, history of computer through video clippings, notes on computers, practical’s, etc. The students follow a syllabus prepared by us. This step helps students to update themselves with latest knowledge about computer application.

Rafik Sir and Seema Didi, our rural development team members, have taken the lead to impart computer knowledge from 18th September, 2018.

ART FOR A PURPOSE

October brought festivities and also a lot of fun with it as our rural school students engaged in making dandiya for Navratri celebrations. These kids from grade 1 to 5 from Khamboli, Aandhale, Pimpoli, Jawal and Katarkhadak villages learnt to decorate wooden sticks, newspaper rolls and make dandiyas. Fancy lace and colorful cloth adorned these beautiful handmade dandiyas. The aim was to develop their creative faculty

Our Rural team under the guidance of Mrs. Seema Kamble and Manisha Shinde conducted art class for school students on 12th and 15th October. This was followed by Navratri celebrations.
