Costume distribution

Costumes lend colour and a special charm to the dance performance. We distributed 58 costumes comprising of white and grey tops to school students of Andhale, Khamboli, Katakhadak and Jawal villages.

The gesture aimed at boosting their creative expression through dance and giving a sense of uniformity to the performance. The smiles on the  children’s faces on receiving it was a gift we gave ourselves.

Health Awarenness for women

Health has always been at the centre of all our awareness programmers. This time we decided to do it for rural women. Our in-house gynecologist, Dr. Varsha along with Renuka conducted health check up camp for Rural women .They were guided about health risks faced by women, diet, health challenges, prevention and solutions. Village women opened up freely and willingly to the lady doctor who answered their queries and explained them various concepts.

We provided a gynecologist, consultation room at the kendra, resources and medicines. We invited village women to the kendra for a health check up and addressed challenges faced by them in the area of health.

Gratitude session

Gratitude is the highest virtue to live by.The magic of spreading this workshop has become much easier.Anyone and everyone can be trained to take this workshop. The trainers go house to house with a recorded session. They can play and pause it and make it interactive too.So everywhere this knowledge can be easily spread. All you need is the will to do it.

Tailoring class

We weaved a little love and confidence into the lives of our village women folk by introducing tailoring classes. These enthusiastic bands of women from Katarkhadak village have taken charge of saving environment with their humble efforts. They are empowered with the skill to stitch cloth bags in bulk which will then be distributed among the villagers. It’s an attempt to help villagers give up the use of plastic bags. We are in gratitude to the village women for giving us an opportunity to equip them with the necessary skill, the machines, cloth, thread and loads of inspiration. Soon this will add a smile to their pockets too!

Offering of RSVK

Provided a platform to learn skills and get into entrepreneurship mode. We are in continuous process to empower the women.

Bappa distributes the books

Shri Krishna Vyayam Mandal, Shukrvarpet, Pune, came up with this unique idea. On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, they decide to offer Ganpati Bappa study kits of four books, pen, pencil, scale, eraser and sharpener, so that the kits can be later distributed to needy children. The idea was that the children, instead of feeling proud for giving it as charity, were in gratitude for making an offering to Ganapati Bappa. This offering later was distributed in the rural India.

Offering of RSVK

SSY Katarkhadak

A new batch of SSY program is being held at Katarkhadak Village. It’s gratifying to have 25 villagers enrolled for this SSY batch, at a time when the rice ploughing season is in full swing and the villagers are extremely busy for the entire month, tending to their fields.

Also, the villagers now very fondly offer their houses to conduct these classes.

Mehendi

This time we used a shade of red to spread smiles. Women at Katarakhadak village have been receiving training in applying mehendi. To give a festive cultural tinge to the Upanaynum and Raksha Bandhan ceremonies, 9 village girls were invited to apply mehendi on the hands of Gurukulam girl students, teachers and parents. Our small endeavor to colour the lives of the village women with hues of happiness.

This skill was imparted to help village girls make some earnings. The creativity involved has boosted their self-esteem.

BNI chapter (Titan)

It is said, ‘Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.’ Keeping this as a motto, BNI chapter (Titan) joined hands with RSVK in our vision for Women Empowerment at Katarkhadak village. The support came in form of four sewing machines along with tailoring kits for women and Naturopathy equipment like massage table, body steamers and Kati snan tub. The cloth bags tailored by the village women will serve the dual purpose of saving environment in addition to gifting them financial freedom. The Naturopathy and beauty treatment training, along with equipment, given to the village girls is helping them carve out a niche for themselves.  13 BNI personnel visited Katarkhadak to inaugurate this activity in the village. They enjoyed making cloth bags with village women and interacting with them. The women also enjoyed a head massage given by the village girls.

Training women for the last four months and connecting with BNI to make our collective vision a reality.

Rains raincoats and plants

Let your heart melt this monsoon! Yes, the joy of sharing is so blissful! Children in villages go to school walking. And many of them have to walk miles. During the rains, if they have raincoats, it’s easier for them to walk and be dry for the whole day in the school. Yet, not to make any one just seekers of charity, even when we share our abundance, we link it with a higher purpose! So we linked this raincoats distribution with the Plantation drive. Every child was given two saplings, one of Amla and one of Jaamun. Children loved to receive the combination of both saplings and raincoats. Both the things made them equally happy! It was a heartwarming sight to see these children value the raincoats – the way they received it, tried it, folded it and were in gratitude.

Offering of RSVK

We distributed in four villages schools of Aandhale, Katarkhadak, Jawal and Khamboli. Total 200 raincoats, 400 saplings.
